Thames Pavilion is a structure that is responsive to the tidal cycle of River Thames which is capable of presenting different configurations to its users. The aim is to enhance the presence of the river , especially to the visitors of London who are not aware of the importance and presence of the river in the city. The pavilion-like structure sits on the border of the river and is actuated by the changing tides all along its length. By way of design, the actuation of the tides produces a variety of configurations throughout the day in a non-linear manner. In order to boost the presence of the river as an almost uncontrollable force of nature, a structure which changes with the tides is created and users have to organize their program depending on the tidal cycle.
